Artist Statement

My art is a reflection of my relationship with the environment, shaped by the landscapes and climates I’ve lived in. In Austin, Texas, my earlier works were filled with the soft warmth of the balmy weather, using pastels and atmospheric tones to evoke a sense of comfort and ease. Now, inspired by the rugged beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, my current work features bold, contrasted portraits of mountain wildlife, capturing the sharpness and vitality of the region’s dramatic landscapes.

I am driven by a lifelong pursuit of creativity, constantly seeking to evolve my artistic voice through experimentation and learning. My preferred approach is mixed media—acrylic, collage, ink, and oil—though I often begin compositions with graphite and watercolor to explore form and color.

My art is not only a personal expression but also a tribute to the influence of skilled creators and art professionals who have shaped my journey. The Milan Arts Institute’s Mastery Program has been integral in honing my skills, while the shared knowledge from artists around the world has inspired me to continuously strive for excellence. With each piece, I aim to merge the elements of my surroundings with my artistic vision, celebrating the beauty and complexity of nature.
